School of Historical Restoration
Passing On The Secrets Of The Intricate, European Craft To You:
Intro:
The School of Historical Restoration invites interested craftsmen to join expert Domenico DeCarlo
as he teaches you the skills involved in restoring and recreating historical work. The classes will
teach students all of the necessary techniques required to create DeCarlo’s decorative European
ceiling designs in a hands-on environment that stimulates interaction and feedback. The school
is not about learning how to make money; but rather how to become a skilled craftsman that takes
great pride in his or her work. In a small group environment, DeCarlo will help you gain the
knowledge and confidence needed to create detailed designs that will expand your current business
and help lead you into a better future.
The Transition: Novice to Expert
The step-by-step video, a prerequisite for the class, was created to teach you the basics of ceiling
design techniques. The school has been established to enhance the experiences gained from the tape
so that you can market your craft to the public. Our school will accept diligent, perseverant
candidates that are eager and willing to learn. These craftsmen will gain the ability to go forward
in their craft and gain leverage into the exceptionally well-paid historical restoration venue.
In this school, we do not only teach you about different types of plaster and ornamental repair,
but also how to create new designs.
Sharing the Wealth:
“People ask me why I want to share the secrets of my craft. The answer is simple: I don’t want to
be greedy. I can not possibly complete all the jobs that require skilled ceiling designers;
therefore, I would like to pass this knowledge onto you.”- Dominico DeCarlo
The delicate and intricate art of European ceiling design creates lovely pieces; however, not many
individuals know how to create it. DeCarlo is one of the few artists with an extensive background
in the trade, and would like to pass on the knowledge and skills to others so that they, too, can
benefit. In today’s society, fewer and fewer of the younger generation become involved in a hands-on
trade. Meanwhile, the number of skilled craftsmen in a particular trade declines. Customers are
willing to pay a decent amount of money for someone to decorate their house, and the shortage of
skilled craftsmen means more money for YOU. If you are willing to work hard and spend time on your
craft, than you have the ability to enter a market where the demand is much greater than the supply.

"Did you know that 85% of people that start there own construction
business will vanish in their 1st 6 months. 10% will vanish within one year. 3%
will survive on the poverty line. Only 2% will succeed. The ones that will
succeed are the ones who have multiple skills in their pocket. Mr. DeCarlo
suggests that you should make a small investment in the video to learn as many
skills as possible."
